Charmel gained 13 exp and grew to level 14!

Yujin gained 13 exp!

Yoku matched Kevin's own grin before kneeling down and patting Yujin gently on the head. "You did awesome!" she said to her Pokemon, "and you too!" the last statement was directed toward Charmel. Lifting herself back fully onto her feet, the Breeder's gaze looked questioningly toward the man. "Well," she said to him, "looks like we won. You should probably take up your end of the bargain now." She expected some sort of trouble or resistance from this man, and a soft growling from Dansei seemed to tell that the Quilava agreed with her trainer.

Bart scowled at Yoku before leaving the Pokecenter. He didn't bother to get his two Pokemon healed, he could easily do it at his next destination. Taking one of the other occupied pokeballs from his belt, Bart released a Swellow, who flew in the direction of the next town.

Kevin had Charmel healed, then turned toward Yoku and asked, "Think he'll actually keep his rnd of the bargin, or do you think we're gonna see him again?"

"He seems like the type that would go back on his word," Yoku replied honestly, placing a hand on the back of her head and softly sighing. "We'll make sure he doesn't do anything bad, though," she smiled and glanced up toward Kevin, "we are friends after all, and that's what friends do." With a start, she realized just how long it had been since she actually felt close to another person. There was... her brother, but after the anguish she felt with losing him, she couldn't bring herself to make any bond as close as she had with him. That was, until now. She was trusting of Kevin and actually cared for his well-being and found his company a nice addition. Her grin widened, the revelation brightening the mood that had been dampened by Bart's appearance.

Still, she thought to herself, what would happen if something ever happened to him? The man seemed almost evil, just like the man on that day... she shuddered at the memory of a Pokemon, Tamogo's father, limp in a lifeless heap in her brother's arms, no, I won't let anything happen. I'm not weak like I was before! My Pokemon and I will protect my friends and anyone in that situation. I've grown, it's my duty to never let something like that happen again. Realizing that her mental conversation was causing an awkward silence, Yoku relaxed and yawned. "So, what now?" she asked.

"Hm, I wanna go check out the gym. I'm eager to walk around town afterward, too. Who knows, we might just make another friend here or somewhere else on our journey." he grinned, eyes alight with pure excitement and curiousity as Charmel looked up at him.

"Yeah, the more the merrier," Yoku replied with a wide grin, "and I'd love to watch your gym battle. I bet I'd learn a lot from it, you battle so well," her eyes scanned the mess that the battle had created. There were scattered remnants of plant seeds and powder, scorch marks and footprints all around the main lobby. The furniture seemed to have escaped the Pokemons' wraths, but the room was quite a mess. "Well, maybe we should clean this all up first," Yoku laughed, glancing down toward her team of Pokemon. "You can all help, can't you?" Though Yujin smiled guiltily and nodded, along with most of her team's agreement, Dansei just huffed and rolled her eyes. She eyed the mess with disdain, but after one lighthearted prod from Dansei, the Quilava reluctantly also nodded and moved to help.

"Yeah, we should." Kevin chuckled lightly before rolling up his sleeces and went to ask nurse Joy for a few buckets and other cleaning supplies. After bringing the supplies over to their group he began to get to work, using Marie's help of filling the buckets with water. Charmel and Champ helped with scrubbing the scortch marks and footprints. Although the three weren't sure about what to do about the left over powder.

Tamogo happily scrubbed the floor as Kaeru was lightly dousing it, pulling away the scorch marks little by little. The two seemed to be making a game of it, as if they were racing to make sure they would be the ones who would get the place tidy first. Dansei was helping in her own way, burning away the seeds scattered about while making the ashes a more easy pile for Yoku to sweep up into a dustbin given to her by a rather stern and unamused Nurse. Of course, this made Kaeru and Tamogo groan as they saw the new marks, and the two quickly dashed off and fervently started scrubbing them. Yujin, meanwhile, took it upon himself to clean up the remains of the PoisonPowder, kneeling down toward it and sticking the icy blue flower midst the newly swept pile. Closing his eyes, a faint energy surrounded the flower, and he began to absorb the powder, as it would leave him unaffected.

"Know what," Yoku mused, "we were the winners, I think cleaning this mess is a bit of an injustice," her face crossed with a wry smile and she looked up toward Kevin, "ah well, it's almost cleaned up now."

Kevin laughed lightly at Yoku's comment. True, they were almost done, and it did seem like an injustice to them. Their teamwork made the work get done faster, but it didn't bother the teen as he finished with the rest of the scortch marks and footprints left on the floor.

(Mine as well add her adopted Pokemon to her team, finally. I've been meaning to X3)

Yoku and her Pokemon finished their work as well, and the trainer gratefully wiped the back of her hand across her forehead, now slightly moist with the sweat of her efforts. "Great job guys," she praised her Pokemon, "even you Dansei, that wasn't so bad, now was it?" Dansei rolled her eyes and huffed. The rest of the team gave out cries of victory and seemed much more enthused than the disgruntled Quilava.

"Oh, not again!" A Nurse's voice suddenly cried out, catching the attention of Yoku and her team. At first, she thought it was directed toward she and Kevin, but they had already cleaned, so what was the big deal? Turning her curious eyes toward the Nurse, Yoku saw some sort of Pokemon hovering over the shoulder of the poor woman, and it seemed to be blowing into her ears. When the Nurse would turn, the giggling Pokemon would quickly change sides and blow into the other ear. "Stop that!" the Nurse commanded while stomping her feet, "you're too much to handle around here. If you keep distracting us Nurses and pulling pranks on the visitors, we're going to have to make you leave." Her voice was stern but weighted, as if she didn't want that sort of measure taken. The Pokemon stopped and blinked in surprise, lowering himself onto a nearby counter.

"L-Lit," the Pokemon said, receiving a concerned glance from the Nurse.

"Your trainer gave you to us to care for, but you can't stay here forever," she said, "I'm sure we can find you a better home. But not with that attitude! That's what made your trainer leave you in the first place." Though it was an important statement, it didn't seem to phase the Litwick, who now was looking toward... Yoku. The two locked eyes, and the Litwick jumped off from the counter and hovered over to her and her team. The Nurse, thinking that he was about to pull some more mischief, frantically dashed after him.

"I apologize for this Litwick," the Nurse said, trying to snatch the Pokemon from the air, though it instead caused the Pokemon to laugh and make circles around Yoku's head.

"Oh, it's no problem," Yoku replied with a smile, looking to the Litwick with interested eyes, "I've never seen a Pokemon like him before, he's pretty cute," he eyes continued to trace the Litwick's flight path.

"Really?" the Nurse asked with sudden delight, "he seems to like you. We're actually trying to find a new home for him... do you think you could take him?" When Yoku nodded, the Nurse almost could jump for joy, and a quick "finally!" escaped from her mouth. She nervously chuckled and took out a gleaming Pokeball. "He's all yours," she shoved the ball into Yoku's hands before the dazed trainer could think of changing her minds, and she made a hasty retreat toward the back of the Center.

"Well, uh, that was interesting, and I'm going to call you Chiratsuki," Yoku murmured, pocketing the Litwick's Pokeball. The ghostly candle happily greeted the other Pokemon on his new team by blowing a raspberry toward them from his hovering spot. Yoku, meanwhile, turned toward Kevin. "So, off to the gym then?"

"Sure." Kevin smiled as he unrolled his sleeves and returned the rest of his team to their rightful homes save for Nemo, Totem, and Ginseng. He led the way to the gym, having remembered the many times he passed the gym along with his father, twin, and mother.

At that time him and his twin were around four or five. There were very few memories of them being an actual family and he held them close and dear. He was so lost in his thoughts, he hadn't realized that he nearly passed the gym until Totem caught his attention with a concerned bark.

Yoku tried her best to suppress a giggle, but her stomach still silently heaved. She, too, had returned the majority of her Pokemon, save Dansei and Kodokuna. The Quilava wasn't fond of her Pokeball, and instead took her place gently resting on her perch made from Yoku's shoulder. She occasionally glared at the long, fiery strands of hair that blew in front of her face. Suddenly, the Quilava made an irritated roar and lashed out to grasp the bothersome hairs, clutching them in her mouth with a look of satisfaction. "Just don't pull them out," Yoku laughed toward her partner, it didn't seem like the first time this sort of thing has happened.

Kodokuna was napping in his trainer's arms. The baby Pokemon still hadn't adjusted to being inside a Pokeball, and Yoku's instinct told her that it would be best to wait until he was older to try to keep him within it. The young Pokemon seemed to nap a lot, and the only sign that he wasn't comatose was his occasional shift toward his trainer, nestling in the warmth against her stomach.

"After you," she said to Kevin, making a sweeping motion toward door, "and good luck in there."

"Thanks." he smiled. Kevin then looked at his Pokemon, who each looked ready. So, he enteted the gym, holding the door open for if Yoku waned to enter as well before moving to his place on his side of the water-type battle field.

Yoku shuffled in after Kevin, grateful for the open door keeping her from having to shift around the precious cargo in the form of a napping Cubone. She quickly looked around for seating and saw some bleachers set up nearby. Taking a seat, her excited gaze swept across the gym, awaiting the chance to see Kevin and his Pokemon in action.

"Hm, a challenger," a male voice called from a nearby swimming pool. There was a loud splash as he resurfaced from the water, and another one as a peppy looking Wartortle exited as well. "You'll have to challenge us before you can fight Misty, though feel free to heal your Pokemon in between if you do manage to beat me! My name's Chase, and I'm your one obstacle before getting to the gym leader. If you're ready, make the first move." As he was speaking, he made his way to the opposing side of the arena with his Wartortle taking his position in front of his trainer, awaiting Kevin's move."

"Alright Ginseng, you're up! start off with Sleep Powder, followed by Vine Whip!" Kevin command. The Bellsprout nodded, using both moves right after the other with quick precision, aiming at his opponent across from him.

"Get that pesky powder away, quick, use Water Gun to blast it away!" the trainer skillfully called to his Wartortle, who obeyed just as fast as Ginseng, blasting a torrent of water at the purple shaded powder in order to stop the incoming attack. In doing so, however, he opened himself up to the Vine Whip, which lashed across his stomach with damaging accuracy.

"War!" the Pokemon cried out as he recoiled from the damage. Narrowing his eyes and pushing his ears back, he bared his sharp teeth. Suddenly dashing forward, he outstretched his jaws and hurtled toward Ginseng with a Bite attack.

"Again! Once you use Vine Whip throw him as hard as you can into a wall!" Kevin countered. Ginseng quickly released another Sleep Powder at the incoming Wartortle. As he used vine whip he would slash at Wartortle before attempting to wrap the vines around it in a vice like grip and attempt to throw him into a wall as hard as his little body would allow...

"Quick, Withdraw!" Kevin's opponent called, "it's too fast to dodge!" Nodding, Wartortle suddenly jumped into the air and retracted his vulnerable body into his sturdy shell, landing to cover his soft stomach as the attacks reached him. The PoisonPowder's slow descent fell uselessly against the sturdy back, and the vines would have a hard time wrapping around the Pokemon's current position, especially with the added bulk of dead weight. They would, however, do some damage if used to strike the outside of the shell. This trainer was tough, though that's expected of someone training in a gym!

"Switch out with Nemo." Kevin ordered quickly. Both Pokemon then quickly switched places on the field.

"Alright, use Spark." Kevin said, narrowing his eyes at their opponent. Nemo wiggled in aknowledgement before being surrounded and covered in electeicity, charging at Wartotle as fast as his little body could, looking similar to a comet.

"Stay in your shell, don't let him make you vulnerable!" The trainer commanded to his Wartortle. The turtle Pokemon obeyed, not budging from his spot situated in his shell idly in the middle of the battlefield. It was an interesting tactic, a shell providing protection but ultimately creating an easier, immobile target. Wartortle continued to wait in his shell as Nemo grew closer. The charge easily made contact, and the water turtle was sent skitting in a spin across the gym floor, much like a shuffle board. The attack had damaged him, but not nearly as much as it would have had he been outside his shell. Dizzied, however, he couldn't gain his bearings in time to figure an attack of his own, leaving himself open to another one by Nemo, if he was fast enough.

"Again! Charge beam afterward." Kevin ordered, watching Wartortle closely. It obviously was hurt by Spark. Nemo was quick to act, charging at Wartietle with another Spark. If this connected the small electric type would make some distance and have sparks cover it's body as it releases a beam of electricity, aimed for one of the openings in Wartortle's shell in an attempt to knock it out.

"Wartortle, do something to slow it down!" Kevin's opponent called, though his bravado was beginning to crack. He knew that if Nemo's moves hit, Wartortle would be down for the count. "Use Bubble to stop him in his tracks!" Wartortle glanced at his trainer from the dark confides of his shell and smiled before turning his attention to Nemo. Not wanting to disappoint his trainer, he took a wide breath then shot a barrage of bubbles at the charging electric type in hopes to either slow or stop him. If it was unsuccessful, he knew he wouldn't last another array of electric attacks.

Nemo began to zig-zag to gain momentum suring Spark, popping many of the bubbles in his way before ramming into Wartortle's shell and releasing the golden beam of electricity shortly after.

As Nemo slammed into Wartortle, the turtle knew the battle was over. One shock was all it took to leave him lying motionless within his shell. In a beam of red light, he disappeared. Kevin had won the well-fought fight. "Congrats," the trainer said, fishing 500 PokeDollar  out of his pocket and holding it out toward the victor. "There's a machine to heal your Pokemon back there," he motioned his thumb toward a machine similar to that found in the Pokemon Center, pushed up against the back wall so it didn't impede with or get damaged by any hazardous battles. "Just tell me when you're ready and I'll get Misty. Good luck."

"Thanks." Kevin nodded before heading to the machine to make sure his team was fully healed. Onxe done he released them again before turning to his former opponent and nodded, signaling that he was ready to face Misty.

After making it to his side of the battlefield, Totem stood in front of Kevin in a battle stance as sparks bounced off his small body as they waited. Ginseng and Nemo both looked at each other as they stood beside Kevin, before turning back to their companion.

Taking Kevin's signal, the trainer quickly disappeared into another room off the side of the gym, most likely the gym leader's office or lounge area. He quickly emerged with Misty following behind him, who eyed Kevin with interest. "Welcome," she said to him, "and I'm pleased to be your opponent. Not many best my trainees, but don't let that make you think I'll be a breeze. Come on, let's make a splash!"

She tossed a Pokeball in the air, and it made a couple revolutions before allowing a Staryu to appear from within it. It took to the field, standing lightly on two of its five appendages as if they were legs. The gem within its center glistened, and it stood, waiting.

"As customary, I'll allow the opponent the first move," Misty said before waiting for Kevin to make his first move.
